I started coding in 2017 at the University of Central Florida's Coding Bootcamp. The bootcamp was a six-month program intended to immerse students in web programming and design. It is easily one of the hardest things I've ever done because coding didn't come naturally as other things. Those 24 weeks of ultra-late nights, frustration, uncertainty, and insecurity tested my sanity and made me question if I even belonged.
Meet Allen
... and I'd do it all over again!
At first, I assumed coding was somehow very mathematical or scientific, and I wouldn't enjoy those subjects if it wasn't my idea. With persistence and determination, I learned that I can do it. Things changed when I thought of web development as my art, and I got to create art to broadcast my clients' messages. I get to use these frameworks and programs are part of my artistic toolbox, and I'm excited to expand my kit as I grow.
When not designing or developing websites, I enjoy family time, cook, play video games, and listening to a lot of music. I spend a good deal of my non-technical day out in the Florida sun training my clients to smash their fitness goals.
